What will I have to pay for the attorney’s services in a real estate transaction? | Freilich Law | Michael Freilich | freilichlaw.com | (410) 321-0040
It depends what the lawyer does. Some attorneys do it on a fixed price basis per piece of work, some do it hourly. Typically, it’s between one and two hours to review the contract. Then there are post contract things, which come up, whether it’s a problem with obtaining a mortgage or a problem with the inspection report, and other types of issues, and that time just depends on what it’s got to be. And the third is in connection with the closing and just reviewing closing documents. That’s typically one to three hours. And, again, it depends upon the experience level and the knowledge level of the attorney, what the charges tend to be.
