I did some estate planning in the past with my financial advisor. Should I still consult an estate planning attorney? | Freilich Law | Michael Freilich | freilichlaw.com | (410) 321-0040
Absolutely. An estate planner deals with your money and where it’s going to go. Unfortunately, I’ve seen a number of situations where they have allowed the tax planning wag the dog instead of the dog wagging the tax planning. I’ve also seen beneficiary designations screwed up. I’ve also seen estate planning that makes no sense in terms of what the client wants with his family or his or her final decisions with respect to his family.
