First of all, interview him or her. Go meet him. Take a look at the office. What does it look like? When you meet him, what are your initial feelings? Are they good or bad? Can I communicate with this guy or girl? Do I believe this person can represent me. Before you get to the office, double check credentials. What college? What law school? Any advanced degrees? How many years of experience? What has this person seen? Then finally, when he talks to me about his or her ideas of what I should do, does he break it down so that I can understand it in English? And, was he willing to protect me and then make a decision? Is this the person I want? Is this the horse I want to pull my wagon?
