Intestate means you died without a valid will You go by the rules of intestacy, which were written by the Maryland General Assembly. It may not be what you want, but it will be your will. So, for example, if you die without children and you have a spouse, it will go to your spouse, but if you die, and you have property, and you have a wife and children, it would be divided between your wife and your children. That’s a solution. Find a lawyer who knows what you’re doing and have them write a will with you.
