What is a disclosure statement? | Freilich Law | Michael Freilich | freilichlaw.com | (410) 321-0040
In Maryland, a disclosure statement is required by statute. Most realtors, when you sign the Listing Agreement in Maryland, will have you fill out a Disclosure Statement that talks about condition of the property. It includes things like plumbing, runoff, things of that sort. However, there’s an alternative. The statue allows for a Waiver of the Disclosure and you sign a waiver. I rarely allow my sellers to sign a Disclosure Agreement. That’s what an inspection is for. Make sure you have all documents reviewed by your real estate attorney, especially the Listing Agreement and all the attachments.
All fields are required. Please fill out the form and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
